Beware
Not All Pre-Packaged Raw Dog
Foods Are Equal
In the past
few
years
since raw
diets have gained more
attention a number of lower
cost lower quality frozen
raw dog foods have entered
the market.
Unfortunately a
number of these products are
of a lower quality and are
not properly formulated to
the highest standards.
We carry only
naturally grown and/or
organically grown food and
supplements, under USDA and
FDA restriction and
licensing of foods for human
consumption, that are
available for animals. In
buying prepackage raw food,
you want it to look as if
you made it yourself and
froze it fresh!
The
Right Ingredients
The most beneficial meat to
vegetable ratio is 75%
muscle meat & bone and 25%
ground or juiced vegetables.
Take time to read and
learn the proper dietary
plan for your pet.
At first it may seem
somewhat overwhelming but
when in doubt go back to
nature for your answers.
Imagine what your pet
would eat if it were in the
wild.
Prey would be whole
animals such as mice,
rodents, chicken or rabbits.
Vegetable matter
would be obtained from
partially digested stomach
matter of the prey.
Not a large ration of
vegetables or grain.
The ratios would be
heavy in muscle meat, lots
of blood rich bone and a
small amount of vegetable
matter.
Calcium, Vitamins, and
Mineral Supplements are a
Must!
Calcium is the most abundant
mineral in the body and it
must be sufficiently
provided for in your pet’s
diet. "Crushed
bones do NOT eliminate the
need for Calcium. The
calcium in bones is used
calcium and not sufficient.
If an animal in the wild
were killing their prey they
would eat all the blood as
well. It is the calcium in
the blood that is being
carried to the bones that is
the real calcium. Our
Calcium is absorbed in the
same way as that form of
calcium. Like humans dogs benefit
from nutritional supplements
in the form of vitamins,
minerals and essential fatty
acids.
We trust you will
find our supplements to be
of the highest quality
available in the market and
the breadth of the
assortment will cover most
dietary needs or those needs
specific to your pets
medical requirements
Transitioning
Most healthy dogs transition
without difficulty
immediately.
Some dogs benefit
from a 7 to 10 day
transition period. Where you
mix their old food with the
new raw diet foods,
gradually reducing the
quantity of old food and
increasing the new until
your dog is eating all raw
food.
Cats by their very
nature may transition more
slowly.
The main thing to
remember is patience!
Detoxification
Up to a month into the raw
diet, some dogs and cats may
go through a period of
detoxification where they
may experience loose or
mucousy stool their coats
may get worse before they
get better, their eyes may
begin to run or their ears
might get gooey.
All of these are
positive signs the body is
ridding itself of an
accumulation of toxins from
their former diet.
These detoxes can
happen periodically
throughout the diet but
should not last more than
several days.
After a period of
detox you’ll notice your pet
look and feels better than
before the detox started.
If your pets
experiences symptoms similar
to detox that last longer
than a few days contact your
vet and have them look at
your pet
to insure that it
isn’t something other than a
detox.
